Ladbrokes Winter Carnvial 2019

Since the famous and valuable handicap chase was first run as the Hennessy Gold Cup in 1957, the race has become one of the major highlights of the Jump season.

There have been many memorable performances, from historic champions Mill House and Arkle, to the more recent winners, including Denman, Many Clouds and Native River.

Last year’s running proved an emotional occasion when jockey Tom Scudamore secured a famous one-two for trainer Colin Tizzard as he steered Sizing Tennessee to victory over Elegant Escape the day after his grandfather’s funeral, which he had to miss because he was riding. Newbury Racecourse welcomed more than 22,000 racegoers across the two days to witness the Tizzard stable celebrate a second Ladbrokes Trophy victory in three years.

Ladbrokes Trophy Day is one of the biggest days in the Winter social calendar. With a magical atmosphere, live music after racing and the introduction of a new Ladbrokes Gentleman’s Day on the Friday, 2019 is set to be bigger and better than ever. The meeting is well known for the host of celebrity faces who have attended in the past including Hollywood A listers Eddie Redmayne, Hugh Bonneville, Stanley Tucci & Carey Mulligan, sporting stars Denise Lewis, Barry McGuigan & Johnny Bairstow, musicians Mel C, Mollie King & Tinie Tempah, comedians Jennifer Saunders & Rob Brydon, plus recognisable TV personalities such as Martin Clunes, Chris Hughes, James Nesbitt, Amanda Holden and Jeremy Clarkson.

The 2019 Ladbrokes Winter Carnival once again will offer over £700,000 in prize money across the two days. Book tickets before November 4 to take advantage of a £5.00 early booking discount by visiting newburyracecourse.co.uk
